Jessica gets first podium for Great Britain

Local ski racer, Jessica Anderson from Oundle has taken her first international podium in the Czech Republic where she was competing for GB.

Jessica came 5th in the slalom against girls from a host of other countries including Czech, Russia, Slovenia, Belgium and Holland amongst others.

A delighted Jessica said “It’s been a tough start to the season as I broke my thumb and knuckle in the races in the New Year so have had to race with a cast which Kettering Fracture Clinic built for me so I could still hold my pole. To finish on the podium in Czech Republic is definitely my highest achievement to date and I am the best placed GB girl out of all the girls who have ever raced there over the years, which is a great honour”.

Jessica has a hectic schedule ahead of her for February which sees her competing for GB in the international race in Slovenia and then on to Italy to compete in the English Championships.
